Making Qatari Money Transfers

Bank Details Required

You will need the following information to make a money transfer to Qatar:

  • Beneficiary name
  • Account Number
  • Swift Code
  • Bank name

Transfer Time for Qatari Money Transfers

Qatari money transfers are usually received the day after transmission. If you are using a currency company for sending money to Qatar, you should find funds arrive the next day after you have settled in sterling with your provider. In some cases Qatari banks may take one extra day to physically clear funds to the final beneficiary account.

Charges and Exchange Rates

The cost of international money transfers can be broken down into 2 sections: transfer charges, and exchange rates. Banks normally charge around £30 for a transfer, and also make up to 4% by 'loading' the exchange rate applied to a transaction.

Both these costs can be reduced by using a currency broker. Usually transfer charges are much less (or free), and the exchange rate should be much closer to the market rate. Payments to Qatar will usually be requested in Riyals, or alternatively in US Dollars. Please see our dedicated page on Qatari Riyal exchange rates for more information, or complete your details at the top of the page to obtain a free quote for your own transfer.

There may be a small charge made by the receiving bank, to process and credit the payment to the Qatari bank account, and/or the routing bank, which is an intermediary used to route the payment through the international banking network to the recipient bank.
