Making Bahraini Money Transfers
Bank Details Required
You will need the following information to make a money transfer to Bahrain:
Transfer Time for Bahraini Money Transfers
Bahraini money transfers are usually received the day after transmission. If you are using a currency company for sending money to Bahrain, you should find funds arrive the next day after you have settled in sterling with your provider. In some cases Bahraini banks may take one extra day to physically clear funds to the final beneficiary account.
Charges and Exchange Rates
The cost of international money transfers can be broken down into 2 sections: transfer charges, and exchange rates. Banks normally charge around £30 for a transfer, and also make up to 4% by 'loading' the exchange rate applied to a transaction.
Both these costs can be reduced by using a currency broker. Usually transfer charges are much less (or free), and the exchange rate should be much closer to the market rate. Please see our dedicated page on Bahraini Dinar exchange rates for more information, or fill in your details at the top of the page to be put in touch with an FSA-regulated broker for a quote.
It is also not unusual to send US Dollars to Bahrain accounts, particularly if you are paying for goods or settling an invoice. The same payment details as above are required, whichever currency you want to send.
There may be a small charge made by the receiving bank, to process and credit the payment to the Bahraini bank account, and/or the routing bank, which is an intermediary used to route the payment through the international banking network to the recipient bank.
